HARLOW Labour’s prospective parliamentary candidate, Laura McAlpine took time off from campaigning across town to reflect on today’s proceedings in the House of Commons.
Ms McAlpine said: “It’s right that parliament has voted to delay the approval of Boris Johnson’s sell out deal. Yes, we are all frustrated with Brexit, but this deal isn’t the answer.
“Three years of time-wasting on Brexit should not be a reason to back this disastrous deal. It endangers manufacturing jobs and paves the way for deregulation, the tearing up for worker’s rights and the sell off of our NHS.
Labour have continually pushed for a deal that protects workers rights, jobs and the economy, which is what we will negotiate when we get into government. This deal is the complete opposite of that.
“We need a deal that puts working class communities like Harlow first, one that protects our economy, our rights and our NHS, only Labour can deliver it.
